Huis van Sarah App

Huis van Sarah is a new COVID-proof multimedia co-production by TheaterMakers Radio Kootwijk, commissioned by Wij Techniek and with the theme of energy transition. Setting: six large moving boxes each with its own room and story. As an audience member, you won’t be sitting still; With the help of the app you will move from box to box with Sarah as your personal guide. Social Brothers collaborated with SchaapOntwerpers to develop this special app. An app that informs you before your visit, guides you during your visit and stays in contact interactively after your visit has ended.

Since the app is an integral part of the show, a customer journey, or in this case a visitor journey, was first developed. We wrote a story that describes the journey the visitor takes before, during and after the performance. From ticket booking to the performance itself and afterwards. All from the perspective of the visitor himself. Then sketches (wireframes) were made in which all these moments are worked out and a clear image emerges of the functionalities and interaction with the app.

Testing apps have come a long way from their humble wireframe beginnings; not only are they now equipped with exciting visuals, but also efficient capabilities. From the wireframes, the design team created a clickable prototype that became the basis for testing the user experience and user-friendliness of the app through multiple performances. With each trial run, users were provided with an entertaining and intuitive experience that allowed them to interact seamlessly with the product. Testing apps effectively was once a complex and arduous task; however, with this dedicated approach towards user-friendliness, it has never been easier to craft a quality product.

The design of the app seamlessly matches the (set) design of the performance. The visual design has been developed in close consultation with the makers of the performance itself. This makes using the app feel like an integral part of the show itself.
