A brand new platform for Mensely 'Leadership and employability'

Did you know that medical absenteeism among workers has been rising for years? It is important to know what the underlying cause is, so that the right prevention can be offered in time. Our partner Mensely , part of Human Total Care, is committed to preventing absenteeism, increasing employability and reducing staff turnover. They want to achieve this by offering companies skilled professionals, smart services and the right knowledge. Good leadership plays a crucial role in solving the absenteeism problem. For example, Mensely asked us to create both a public and internal online platform ‘Leadership and employability’. An important part that we have developed for this platform is the VOS, or the Cause of Absenteeism Scan. This scan can provide insight into the cause of someone’s absenteeism.

Challenge

The ‘Professional and Employable’ is a knowledge base where managers can find information to take the right steps when an employee reports sick or how they can prevent a sick report. The knowledge base is filled with content such as podcasts, blog articles and questionnaires, a kind of “wikipedia for leadership”. In addition, we have developed an internal platform for Mensely internally. Both occupational physicians and peoplely’s POBs can consult this internal tool for support in their daily work. The platform is built in such a way that it can still grow scalable. Humanly wants to expand the knowledge base with new content in the future, this must be easy to add. The challenge within this assignment lay in developing the various questionnaires for the knowledge platform. Our team has created links between users’ answers and relevant content that meets their needs. The answers from these questionnaires are stored in order to create a personalized profile. Because some of these questionnaires contain medical information, it is extra important that the website guarantees the privacy of the users.

Solution

By facilitating the use of both internal and external questionnaires, we have opted for a generic set-up. For the user, the questionnaires on the front-end are indistinguishable from each other, but at the back-end these lists are certainly different. The questionnaires collect (medical) user information, which is why it is important to anonymize this information. Due to privacy legislation and sensitivity of user information, users’ data is periodically emptied.

In order to allow the platform to grow in a scalable way, we have opted for a modular structure. It is easy to add modules and associated functionalities to the knowledge base. This new content is built on one and the same code.
